What this service currently is
Speak Serbian is a beta among friends at the moment. This page says plainly what you are getting into and what you are not.
Subject
Speak Serbian is an application for learning spoken Serbian, run by the person named in the Imprint. These terms cover the use of this application by invited beta participants.
Access
Access is granted individually and by hand. There is no self-registration and no entitlement to be admitted. Your access is personal; do not pass it on. The operator may revoke access at any time, in particular when the beta ends.
No availability commitment
The service runs without any assured availability. It may be interrupted, changed or discontinued at any time, including without notice. Maintenance windows, outages and bugs are expected during a beta and are not a defect against some promised service level.
No guarantee that your data survives
Your study data is handled carefully, but it is not guaranteed to survive beyond the beta. Schema changes, resets and the end of the beta can all lose data. Do not rely on this being your only copy of anything that matters. There is currently no way for you to take a backup yourself; see the privacy page for the route via the operator.
About the language material
The study content is partly written for this app and partly drawn from open sources. Some of it has not yet been checked by a human speaker. Unverified entries are marked as such in the application and are never presented as confirmed. Use the material accordingly: it is study material, not a dependable translation for legal, medical or otherwise consequential purposes. The origin of the sources and their licences are on the sources page.
If you spot a mistake, please report it through the reporting function in the application. By sending a report you allow the operator to use your note to improve the content.
What we ask of you
Use the application as intended. Do not try to reach other people's accounts, bypass the sign-in path, scrape the application automatically or disrupt its operation. Do not put unlawful content, or content infringing someone else's rights, into free-text fields.
No payment
The beta is free of charge. There is no payment function, no subscription and no price list. Should a paid offering follow later, that is a separate contract on its own terms, not a silent continuation of this beta.
Liability
For a service provided free of charge, the operator is liable only for intent and gross negligence, and in the cases where the law mandates liability — in particular for injury to life, body or health. Any liability beyond that, notably for lost learning progress or lost data, is excluded.
Changes
These terms may change during the beta. The version in force is the one on this page, carrying the date shown above. The operator announces material changes to invited participants by e-mail.
Governing law
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
These terms describe how the beta is actually run. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer.
